The Wrong Way Right

A man, a rebuilt 2008 Land Rover Defender, and the deliberate choice to take the "wrong" road. Erik Uncharted is a personality-driven travel and adventure channel built around a simple bet: in a feed full of manufactured spectacle, the most valuable thing a creator can be is real. We built the channel from scratch, the name, the identity, the voice, the website, the publishing engine, etc., and we run it end to end, every week. The Workshop Upstairs is the full production and strategy partner behind it.

Naming and brand identity

The channel started as a question: what is this actually about? The car was the obvious answer and the wrong one, it would have locked every future video to a vehicle. The only real constant was the man. Erik Uncharted came out of that, and the tagline followed: The Wrong Way Right.

From there we built the identity: a logotype set in stencil, a field-kit palette of bone white, signal yellow and deep green, and a typographic system with one rule that governs everything: the stencil is reserved for moments when the channel itself is speaking.

The website

erikuncharted.com is a single page, and that's the point. Woven for the people who watch the videos, no media-kit language, no pitch, one quiet contact line for anyone who needs it. Fast, static, and shaped so the brand reads the same on phone as it does on monitor.

Video and post-production

Raw footage comes in from the road: drone, action cam, pocket gimbal, phone… Everything else is ours. We cut one long-form film a week and roughly one short-form piece a day, each built as a self-contained story rather than a slice of something longer. The editorial standard is deliberately narrow: keep the friction, keep the mistakes, keep the tiredness, and cut everything that doesn't earn its place. Authenticity beats all else, trust this one.

Channel strategy and daily management

We run YouTube, Instagram and TikTok: packaging, titles and thumbnails, descriptions and chapters, A/B testing on every long-form upload, community posts between videos, and the analytics that guide strategy. Weekly cadence, fixed upload day, one clear north star: build an audience that wants to stay.
