Un Cercle Privé

A polo club built by someone who could never ride. He grew up gripping the handles of his wheelchair the way riders grip their reins: firm, certain, like they know exactly where they're going. Maison Serrelle is what love builds when it cannot perform.

He could not play. So he built the place where players could live. Years of collecting, of understanding, of caring about the details that others may not notice but everyone feels. The weight of the fabric. The particular maroon that only looks right at golden hour. The way a crest should be worn: small, pressed, never announced. The brand recedes into permanence, the way old houses do. He had seen what luxury clubs had become, typical places where people arrived to be seen arriving. He wanted nothing to do with that world.

Maison Serrelle was designed to recognize members, not impress visitors. Deep maroon from jackets worn thin by seasons. Gold from trophy rims and old bridles. Ivory the color of the field at dawn. Serifed letterforms with centuries of weight behind them. Everything sourced from the material world of the sport itself. On match days, he sits at the edge of the field where he can feel the ground move when the horses come close. He never needed to ride to understand the sport. He just needed to love it enough to build it a home.
